Configure Your 2019 Ranger

Models

Not long ago the configurator was leaked. Now, its here and we have all the necessary details. Starting from $24,300 (USD) owner have the option of choosing from two cab styles, SuperCab or SuperCrew, and the choice of either 4x2 or 4x4. These increase price by 25% on any 3 models whether you're getting the XL, XLT or Lariat, and we're just getting started. Fortunately, pricing is well within reach any buyer demographic. A 2.3L EcoBoost Four-Cylinder mated to an Electronic Ten-Speed Transmission as the only powertrain setup makes that base XL look even better. Compared to a base Tacoma SR, this will be a good fight.

Paint

Color options aren't nearly as generous as the Tacoma within higher trims but that's to be expected with a segment leader. For the initial 2019 Model Year we get 5 common Ford colors at no charge. Owners looking for more and willing to pay an extra $395-2,000 can choose from colors like Saber, Hot Pepper Red and White Platinum, the latter two only on XLT and Lariat models. More colors and trims should come out in future Model Years especially as the Ranger Raptor makes its appearance. 2019 Raptor colors like Velocity Blue and Race Red will do the Range a lot of justice.

Packages

Package options offered for Model Year 2019 are where things get interesting and of course push your out the door price even higher. However as you go through the configurator and see features like the 8-Way Power Driver and Passenger Heated Seats with Power Lumbar, Remote Start, a Leather-Wrapped Steering Wheel and Shifter, Power-folding Sideview Mirrors, and more offered, it's hard to look the other way. This means a fully equipped Lariat will run into the mid-to-high $40k range. It's not entirely shocking when Toyota has been flourishing in this segment with higher spec Tacoma's.

I'm a bit skeptical about how higher trims will sell because regardless of what you get, its the same 2.3-liter turbocharged engine and the more money Ford asks for it, the more it looses appeal.
