Pickup trucks have grown in size across the board, and I don't think any changes in the dimensions of the Raptor variant will affect its driveability in any way. Its only in the UK where they have narrower roads that width becomes an issue.

With the increase in luxury based pickup trims we could very well be seeing pickups becoming a more common commuter vehicle. Especially if these rumored upcoming hybrid powertrains are just on the horizon.

Basically the people who don't actually need all the space SUV's have to offer, are perfect candidates for the likes of the Ford Ranger.
Fleet options will be interesting because businesses already use vehicles that serve a similar purpose to what this pick up segment can.

The new Ram which offers a hybrid system has seen constant delays due to an EPA approval. To me that suggests their mild hybrid system fails to meet some of the standards expected from an electric vehicle. With all the electrification plans Ford has outlined, I can imagine that they plan to implement it on the Ranger as well.

Initially we should see the new Bronco go hybrid first which should hopefully influence the Ranger, being on the same platform and all. Bronco over Ranger, sets Ford's hybrid program off on a positive note, not so much the other way around when most consumers will prefer an SUV with character.
