Rumours Online

Some people have noted that Ford apparently suggested the Ranger to be priced around $25k for the base model. Considering a TRD Tacoma starts at around $41k, there would be little reason for buyers not to opt for the Ranger. Price will be a key factor in whether or not this truck succeeds, if priced right Ford could put a serious dent in Tacoma sales.

But the base 2018 Tacoma starts out at $25,200. Assuming the Ranger won't be too far off from that and definitely not to a point that price will become one of the many buying decisions, its off the table.
The Tacoma has been and still is the segment leader with sales, how Ford rivals that throughout all 2019 Ranger trims to come out is a matter of auditing its sales performance.

Odds are a Ranger Raptor will be priced like a Tacoma TRD, give or take some hundreds or a thousand here or there.

The new Ford ranger will need to be price around its competitors, so somewhere in the low to mid $20,000s is reasonable. The Chevy Colorado is only starting at $20,200 and the Tacoma at $25k.

I think once we get confirmed specs surrounding the Rangers horsepower and torque, we'll have a better idea at how fair its pricing is. With everything that's been rumored so far, it really does seem like a lot of truck for the money. Lets hope its MPG is significantly more than what's offered in its big brother F150.

I never really expect much in the mpg department for pickups. But even though we don't know the exact specs, we can still make a somewhat accurate guess based on its rivals. Probably closer to the Tacoma's $25k price tag with how much truck Ford is offering.
