Ford enters into new partnership with VW

There have been rumors that Ford and VW were planning on jointly producing upcoming models and it seems that this is now official. Moving forward, Ford will engineer and build mid size trucks, vans and autonomous vehicles with German automaker. https://www.carmag.co.za/news/its-of...or-volkswagen/

While these partnerships are often a downside for the short term, in the long term it could mean stronger successor products.

Hopefully this means models like the Amarok will make their way stateside. I know that's currently one of the most popular pickups overseas and its been getting a lot of praise. I think we are going to be a seeing a lot more joint vehicles as we move into EV's.

I just hope that VW reliability does make its way over, not just with that VW product but the next Ford Transit Connect, it might get more VW parts that we expect.

This is good news and it should mean stronger products from both brands moving forward. If this partnership allows them to save on parts acquisition/development that could also mean cheaper entry models for consumers.

Good luck expecting that. The only change that will happen with a lower price point is you getting lesser car.

However I have hope some Chinese brands will bring new competition, its been the same companies for too long.

Its just speculation, don't think there are any expectations. So long as it means less region specific platforms, its better for consumers.

Typically people expect that a company finding cheaper ways to do things mean perks for the small guy but that's rarely the case, competition is the motivator.

Its the biggest misconception.
