Fight glimpse of LHD Ranger Raptor

Despite Ford remaining silent on whether or not the Ranger Raptor will be offered in North America, a test model was recently spotted testing in the U.S. This is the first left hand drive model that has been seen, and imo it essentially confirms that the Raptor variant will indeed be offered here. The photographer also had the chance to record a video, which gives us a sneak peak at what the twin turbo diesel engine sounds like.

Great to finally get an indication of a U.S bound model. Though I doubt it'll be offered here with that turbo diesel engine. Looks pretty sleek in that red finish too.

Yeah its more than likely that this model will only be offered with Ford's various Ecoboost engines. I wonder if it will be getting any of the new colors that Ford is offering on the brand new F150 variant. namely the Race Red and Lightning Blue.

Not a fan of how much of a world market application its design is. Would have preferred if America got a slightly different take on design. We need bolder design cues similar to whats on the F-150.

I agree that Ford should've offered some variety across markets, seeing as how they are basically reusing the T6 platform from AUS. I do wonder how the performance specs will vary in NA, as many seem unimpressed by the current powertrain.

I guess they're looking at pick up truck makers like Toyota and see that buyers don't care about design nearly as much as they do about performance.
Current Tacoma looks dated but is a top seller, that says a lot.

I wouldn't really say there is anything wrong with the design in the Tacoma/Tundra, though it hasn't really changed much over the years. I do think people go to that brand over others for its reputation of making very reliable vehicles. The new TRD pro lineup is looking to finally offer some real performance oriented trims.
