Ranger Raptor takes on Goodwood

I'm not sure how many of you have been keeping up with runs at Goodwood, but the new Ranger Raptor made an appearance. The commentating is pretty terrible and I would imagine that many will be confused as to whether or not this is the Ranger or F150 variant, but its great to finally see the new truck in action.

Would've been more impressive had their hired a proper drive as well. I've seen people drift the F150 model, so it shouldn't be that difficult to flick around the Ranger. The suspension system did seem to handle that initial jump with ease.

He did seem to have quite a lot of difficult getting it to go sideways, but that's kind of the opposite of what the truck was designed for. Unfortunate that we also didn't get to see it in one of its production finishes. I'm curious if its getting any of the new colors being offered on the 2019 F150 Raptor.

I think Ford could have done better. No good having a capable product running a course similar to supercars.
Even just some settings where it shows what the Ranger Raptor can do would do more for its image.

Goodwood was an odd choice to debut the Ranger Raptor, but I think its moreso about recognition than a proper demo. There we're plenty of vehicles seen here that are still concepts, but they are simply using the publicity to gain consumer interest.

I think people are fairly confident in the capabilities of the Ranger Raptor, the main issue is that Ford still hasn't given any confirmation of a price point or release date for NA. It is looking like the price is decreasing with each new market that its announced for however.

It will have to be slotted underneath the F150 variant by a decent margin, so that would put it in around $40-45k. There is no real reason why Ford would decide not to offer it in North America, unless they have concerns that it may take interest away from its big brother.

If it comes close enough to the F-150 Raptor, as long as there's enough going on between the two to really sway buyers, Ford won't have a problem moving both products.

Just the platforms of each product alone brings out big differences.

I would like to see the models side by side, so we could get a better idea of their differences in size. That's always been one criticism of the F150 Raptor, is that its just too large for the typical commute.

I don't understand how that matters when fundamentally there are differences between the two that makes size irrelevant. These are completely different segments.

If you look at what buyers are basing decisions off of, size between segments like these that have been around for decades isn't even brought up.
