8,000 LBS range is the target...


Most other pick ups here and the Silverado itself has started out around that marker. Anyone competing has to aim for that no matter what.
Safe to say towing cap here will meet it. How does that compare to your towing needs?

I don't think that anyone whos interested in the smallest engine option is all that concerned with towing capacity. Though if the new 4 cylinder is able to deliver on that figure Chevy will have set a new benchmark for more efficient pickups.

It has more to do with what's fitting for the segment they're competing in. Once you create a product and it does have the same fundamentals that worked historically for its segment, its a setup for failure. At the end of the day it needs to be a pick up regardless of what owners do or don't.
