What is in the taillight unit?

Not talking about the actual bulb, but if you look closely at the taillight unit, there seems to be an image of a rectangle that's emitting some kind of wave. Is that part of the reverse sensing system or something else? It's seen on the FX4 Ranger, but as an integrated unit, it must come as standard.

Seems that there is an option for a towing aid that alerts the driver to a possibly faulty connection. Perhaps that's what this symbol represents?

Oh, you were right. That portion with the symbol is the blind spot warning for the Ranger. I took a look at something similar on the F-150 and that was what the part was for.
Seems to be missing on the Raptor version.
